Kottayam Rifle Association was started in the year 1963 to cultivate the talent of shooting amongst citizens of Kottayam, especially the youth, and to provide them a platform to flourish in District, National, and International competitions. We are also sure that this helps them to create a sense of discipline in handling firearms.

The Kottayam Rifle Association was inaugurated by Late. Lt. Col. Goda Varma Raja (GV Raja). 

Our shooting range is located at Nattakom, inside Govt. Poly Technic College. We have around 400 active members currently. 

We are conducting the Dist. Shooting Competition every year, and the winners of the Dist. Champions are sent to the State level, Pre-National, and National Competitions.

Aims and Objectives

To Train citizens of India in Rifle Shooting and to educate them in the use of firearms.

To encourage marksmanship among the civil population, both as a sport and for self-defense, and to ensure necessary means of National defense.
